In the early 1970’s few individuals owning photo studios in the Fort Area of Mumbai, having felt the need to come together, to look into and take care of the interests of people connected to photographic trade, formed a Photographic Dealers Association (PDA). The PDA was born on 21st June, 1973 with a membership of 25 traders. With the growth and activites gradually progressing and entrepreneurs from the Photographic Industry also enrolling as Members of the Association, it was rechristened as All India Photographic Trade & Industry Association (AIPTIA) during the year 1996. Over last 35 years, the Association showed a steady progress and as at present its membership stands at close to 4000 sprawling over the length and breadth of the country. The Association, in its efforts to promote the profession of photography and bring home the latest technology and modern trends of the world, and also to provide a showcase for the photography products started organizing and conducting exhibitions since 1978 under the title “PhotoFair” now rechristened as "Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair". The Association has so far conducted 17 Exhibitions, the last one being in 2012, which was held at NSE Grounds, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Opp. Western Express Highway, Goregaon (East), Mumbai 400063. It was ranked as the best in Asia and the 3rd best in the World. Exhibits from prominent National & Multinational companies like Kodak, Konica, Fuji, Nikon, Olympus, HP, Epson and Jindal were on display. The exhibits consist of world-renowned brand names with assortment of their state-of-the-art technology. Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair 2012 aimed to increase awareness in relevance to the most recent photography inventions and to target the audience in the entire community interested in photography.

Association

The association has its own office premises in a prominent place in the Fort area of Mumbai. It has its website www.aiptia.org to cater the members and the Industry & Trade better. The Association has successfully conducted workshops and Seminars in the field of photography, Works Contract Tax Act and Service Tax, bringing in experts to deliver speeches. With these achievements in its stride, the Association marches ahead with a view to target further goals in the interest of its members in general and the Nation in particular.

• Visitor Hours: 3rd & 4th January, 2013 from 12 noon to 6.00 P.M.
                       5th & 6th January, 2013 from 10 A.M. to 6.00 P.M.

Visitor's entry to Exhibition will only be allowed till 16.00 hrs. on the last day of the event.
